Eager to shut of air conditioning and open windows

I think the best time of the year is nearly here.

I am anxious for the summer weather to end. It’s been month after month of the same weather. I’m looking forward to the arrival of the fall weather. I am ready to turn off the air conditioner and get out from under the high energy bills. I like the change of seasons throughout the year. When the year is coming to an end, I get in a hurry to accomplish things. The cooler weather is the perfect time to walk, go for a run and work on the lawns. I enjoy the beautiful colors of the leaves changing. I get to wear a sweatshirt. The best thing about fall is probably the air quality. I’m able to open the windows, and the house benefits from a source of natural ventilation. After keeping it sealed up with the air conditioner operating, there’s tons of dust, dander, bacteria, odors and other harmful toxins trapped inside. The air conditioning circulates the allergens through the ducts and introduces it into breathing air. When my family inhales this air, they are at risk of health concerns. The air outside is less contaminated than most indoor environments. Very soon, the outside air temperature will drop down. I’m worried that I’ll need to start up the gas furnace. I’ll be forced to shut the windows and seal up the house to prevent energy waste. I’ll make sure to have the furnace professionally cleaned and inspected by a licensed HVAC contractor, but the house will still be affected by air quality concerns. The lack of humidity in the winter causes all sorts of issues. I sleep better when the windows are open and I’m breathing in the fresh outdoor air. I hope the fall weather lasts a long time.
