I needed more time to make things work

My schedule is impossible to predict.

I am a mother and I work long hours.

I usually don’t get home from work until about 7 or 8. At that point, I have a million things I need to do, whether it be cooking dinner for the kids or getting the house in order. Lately, I have noticed that I’m dropping the ball on certain things at home. I noticed that I am not being efficient in terms of grocery shopping, keeping the house clean, or conserving energy. I’ve noticed that our electric and gas bills have gone up significantly since I began working longer hours. I used our heating and cooling company’s website to track our energy usage. It turns out that we run our HVAC system far more than the average person. I called our local heating and cooling company and asked if they had suggestions on limiting energy usage. It turns out that it’s as easy as installing a smart thermostat. At first, I was hesitant to spend the money on unnecessary technology. Why would I need to use my phone to adjust the temperature when I could just do it by hand? The more I thought about it, the more I realized how helpful this feature would be while I was at work. Sure enough, purchasing a smart thermostat led to a large decrease in our energy bills. I am able to lower the temperature settings when I am at work, but raise them just before I come home. This way, the house is always comfortable. The smart thermostat knows my preferences for temperature, and it adjusts the settings accordingly to meet my needs. I would recommend a smart thermostat to anyone with a busy schedule!
